Hobbies

So Bryan asked me a while back what my hobbies were and it got me thinking, I don't really have any. I have gone through a lot of different phases of hobbies, but currently I don't really have something that I tinker with and play around doing. For a while I did piano (and still do occasionally), then a couple years ago I picked up guitar, but that faded a little...in high school I had tons of hobbies...cheerleading, music, singing, handbells....yes, I said handbells....in college there was tennis and raquetball, singers, intramurals...then came PT school. I blame graduate school for ruining my hobby life. All I did for 3 years was eat breath and sleep physical therapy and community service and thinking about my career. I am coming to a point soon....Bryan likes to mess with motorcycles, paint, read comic books, anything sports related...last weekend I started messing with some of Bryan's painting stuff and I have decided that my new hobby is going to be painting. We will see how long it lasts, but for now it is a lot of fun. These are my first "practice" flowers that I painted yesterday...ok, so it won't let me put the photo in my text...I don't know what is up with not being able to paste photos, but the picture is in my photos section of xanga...check out the flowers there.

Bryan's new ride

So after a couple months of looking, buying a bike, and then selling it...Bryan finally got a great motorcycle. He got an awesome deal and it is a great bike. He loves it...and though it makes me nervous...I am happy that he finally has his toy. Wow, toys are so much more expensive when guys get older :)
For some reason I can't get the pictures to post in this weblog, but you may be able to see them in my photos section. He is planning to make a couple changes to the bike starting with straighter handle bars and more streamline rear view mirrors.

Role Reversal

So I got a new Mac computer. Got it home, put it together, started it up and thought..."how the heck do I get on the internet?" You see this is my first Mac and being the airhead that I sometimes can be, I was wondering.."where is the little e icon?" So I call my mom, who uses a mac at work, and she laughs and tells me it is the safari icon. Really...I thought that was some kind of game. Yup...kind of sad...my mom had to tell me how to use a computer.

A Little Babble

Well, I figured it has been too long since I updated so here goes...Overall things are going great.  I am still loving my new job and life with Bryan is always fun and exciting.  He has been in the process of selling his motorcycle and looking for a new one which has been interesting.  I went to Oklahoma City for a continuing ed course on the vestibular system..not so interesting.  Well, the vestibular system is, but I didn't learn anything new so the days were long.  On to the more interesting...I got to go visit Michelle Grey and see her and Chad's new baby Jack last weekend.  Lauren and Zack were also there and it was fun to see everyone and kind of weird to see Michelle with a baby.  I kept thinking she was just babysitting.  Jack is absolutely adoreable though.  On the baby topic...Bryan's sister-in-law had her first baby this past week.  They never found out what it was while she was pregnant and they were very excited to welcome their new baby girl named Kathryn Susan and they are going to call her Katie.  Next we will be welcoming Emma in August when Lori has her baby girl.  Supposedly Bryan and I will have to be the tie breaker between 4 boys and 4 girls for Patty and Dee's grandkids...they may have to wait a while :)

Changes

So some changes have been taking place lately.  I started a new job this past week and I don't know why I didn't do this sooner.  (Bryan wants me to point out that he told me to do this a long time ago).  I loved my old job until things started changing there with some new management and a big merger.  Life was getting more and more stressful and I dreaded going to work everyday and coming home feeling like I had been hit by a truck.  So I started looking around and got interested in home health.  I haven't really gotten started with going out on my own, but basicaly I will be seeing patients in their homes who can't get to outpatient or who have just come out of the hospital.  I only have to see an average of 5 a day to be considered full time which sounds great compared to the 16 a day I was seeing.  Granted there is drive time but I love the idea of getting to have quality one on one time with my patients instead of having 2,3 and even 4 at a time like I was at the old job.  The job is totally flexible; I can see my patients whenever I want as long as I get them seen.  I went out for a day with another PT this past week and we saw 7 people and were still done by 3:30.  I am so excited about not working at 7am and working til 6pm!!!
